Antlers has lost her Matriarch – Jean Walton Dickinson 1921-2020, wife of John Fitch Dickinson 1920-2002 passed away earlier this month after suffering a fall at home. She was 98. The Dickinsons, along with lifelong friends the Walters, have been fishing Kennebago's waters and been captivated by the lake and its wild, extraordinary natural beauty since 1966. Summer after summer and often early spring at Ice Out, Mom would join Dad and the kids exploring the woods, casting with precision during the hatch and marvel at springs bounty of lupines and other wild flowers. Mom's fly of choice was the Royal Coachman much to my father's chagrin. Mom was an ardent defender of open spaces, clean flowing streams and using less of everything if it protected the environment on behalf of her 5 children, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
